You don't need to disassemble the whole thing to change the seal and balancer. Just need to pull the balancer itself. I have never had any luck with the repair sleeves. They also make offset seals though, so the seal lip rides in a different spot on the balancer.

Well that sounds interesting. But I think I’d rather just spend money on a new balancer rather than fight with seal removal/install in a spot with limited room. That’s assuming my recent new seal would still seal to a new balancer...

Actually, doing the seal with everything still in there, really isn't that bad. With the balancer out of the way, it's easy to pop it out, and drive a new one in.

Ok, thanks for the tip. I’ll keep an eye on it here and see how bad it weeps in the next few days and then decide a game plan...
