Default Abs and brake light

My truck is a 1996 ram 3500 dually. My abs light and brake light will come on and go off what seems to be randomly. I have done the test already by grounding the wire under the dash and from the code it showed i replaced the rear speed sensor on the dif. Now the lights still go on and off but grounding the wire under the dash wont show any codes. I also have checked my fuze box and there are no abs fuses or relays but they are like blank holes with no wires connected to them. My truck says it has abs. What is the step to fixing this because im lost.

Sometimes the light will go on briefly and not record a code.

Check all the connections. It could be a loose wire connection. If you notice any braking issue, check for air in the ABS module.

My truck is a '96 2500 and it has an OBD-1 diagnostic connector under the hood around the top of the firewall. Not sure if this is where you may need to connect to find the ABS codes and other specialty codes? I have an older Snap-On MT2500 scanner and it has a provision to connect the older OBD-1 Chrysler connector to the scanner. I have not tried this to-date, but just wondering...

You need to ground one of the pins on the OBD plug is this what you did?
