Put in the new gearbox, pump, and Borgeson shaft. Everything is now tight and now I find this. Turn wheel right or left and hear a clunk sound. Grab steering shaft as it exists firewall and shaft has a lot of play - right left, up down. See video of different truck with exact same problem I have Is this a bad bearing?

Do a google search on "Rock solid Ram steering fix." There is a bushing that needs replace at the base of the column.

Moving this to second gen ram tech.

Sorry, guess I should have mentioned this is on a 92' W150. That's why I am asking. I know the 2nd gen have this issue, I have one. The steering column on my W150 looks different than the 94' 1500

That play is at a different spot than what the ram steering fix cures. I have that going on too, but not as bad. This is an idea I found on youtube, but I haven't tried it yet. There is another video where a guy uses a chuck of serpentine belt. The last comment in this video gives a moog part # for the bushing.
I'm guessing its a bearing issue, but I think the other option is a new column.

Yeah, so far as I know, Dodge didn't offer many parts for the steering column. Just the column itself...

is that actually video of it or do you have any pictures? did you make sure the borgeson steering shaft was extended far enough? if not you could have broke the plastic rivets that hold the rage joint adapter to the steering shaft in the column, if the shaft is pulled out any because the borgeson is set too short it could cause things to be loose. we swapped out the steering column on my buddies truck only to discover that the shaft had pretty much nearly fell out of the column and that we could have just lengthened the borgeson and fixed it.
