Is the truck in a snowy part of the country? Just thinking road salt etc effecting a possible ground.
I wouldn't swap the pump just yet.

According the the FSM, the harness runs down the passenger side frame rail, to a connector just in front of one of the frame cross members. Supposedly, there is a splice in there somewhere for the fuel pump ground. It's kinda confusing...... I suspect that if you simply supplied the fuel pump with another ground, that should solve at least that part of the problem. Or, trace the black wire to where the splice is, and see if it is still spliced in there.

Default found the issue

Dropped the tank and the wiring harness had rubbed through the sheathing. Disconnecting the ground wire that went to the fuel pump and on to the taillights.
Hope this helps the next guy. And thank you for the input from the other members. I appreciate your opinions.
