Default 98 dodge ram 1500 4x4 motor mount placement

The motor mounts on a 98 dodge ram 1500 have a bolt throught the center that are set into a slot in the bracket that is attached to the frame....are the motor mounts suppose to set in the same position on both sides of the motor?
im helping a friend who has a 98 dodge and the motor mount sets lower in the bracket on the passenger side than the drivers side and by looking at the didtance between the firewall and engine it obviously sets higher on the drivers side... Should the driver side be lowered so they set the same?

I think it should set fairly level in there. At least, side to side...... Moving this to second gen Ram section.

Welcome to DF!

I replaced mine a few years ago. If memory serves, they sit the same and mount the same. Probably need new ones.

Default Thank you

And thanks for the replies and the welcoming, we both thought the mounts should be level and just wanted to get another opinion but couldn't find anything in the manual.....so I guess we'll check the condition of the mounts set them level. Thanks again for the input.
