Default 46RH Starts in Second Gear

So did a rebuild on my 1994 Ram 1500. For some reason in drive it starts in second gear. If I put it in manual 1 it works fine and the 1-2 shift is fine. Other than this no issues so i'm thinking something in the valve body. Anyone have any ideas what would cause this?

Sticking valve, or bands too tight.

Ill have to look into the valve. Seemed ok when I had the valve body apart. I would think if the band was too tight that would affect my manual 1-2 shift as well wouldn't it?

Manual first gear uses different hydraulic circuits than when you just put the trans in drive.

I would say you may have a sticking valve in one of the bores in the valve body. Recommend a reman valve body.
