Default Heater controls

My temperature control ****. When all the way to cold it is outside temperature when turned towards heat it goes to full hot. There is no in between. Sometimes when I hit the brakes or a bad bump it goes to full heat. Is it the blend door actuator or the control **** assembly on the dash?

Could be either of the two, I would check the actuator since it is the problem most of the time.

I had an issue like that and someone on this forum suggested replacing the nylon gear that operates the blend door. Problem solved.
