Starter won’t line up right

First off see if the noise goes away. You may just have a bent cover. Otherwise, watch the flexplate for a wobble.

I've been a bit too normal lately.

the sound clearly sounds like the pinon gear in the starter hitting the teeth. I’ll take the dust plate off tommorow before I try a new starter and shims.
