Default 46re tranny slipping after rebuild

Hello,
My Ram is a 2000, 1500, 4x4, tow package with 46re transmission. I have rebuilt the trans after it had to be towed home due to no power to the wheels in all gears. Now the truck slips extremely bad in all forward gears (can shift into each gear) but does fine in reverse and I am completely stumped. No transmission error codes came up on my Zurich zr8 code reader.
Items completed thus far are, new rebuild kit (including clutches and plates) from TranStar Industries, rebuilt low-stall torque converter, rebuilt oil pump, check valve to cooler eliminated, new governor solenoid and transducer, new front and rear bands. Fluid used is Mopar ATM +4 and level is where it should be.
I did the rebuild following the step-by-step training from Tranmissionbench.com for the Chrysler 46re.

Can anyone give me advise as to what could be wrong with the transmission?

Unplug the 8 pin electrical connector for the trans, and see if it's any better. Keep in mind, the trans will have zero automatic function. You will have to start in first, and up/down shift as appropriate. You won't get overdrive, or TCC lockup either, so, don't go real far like that. Just enough to see if it is still slipping in the various gears.

I did do that and it was still slipping. Only tried it in first gear as our driveway is steep and I'm trying to not overdo it.

Then something internally ain't quite right. Pressure tests would be next on my 'to do' list......

HeyYou, thanks for the info. Guess I'll find out how to pressure check. I might just get another kit and torque converter.

I am sure there is a video on youtube for that as well.

I love the internet.

I checked to see what kind of slack is in the TV cable, which I assume is the only cable to the transmission, but am unfamiliar as to what normal is. I disconnect the return spring and found that there is about 3/4" free play before feeling any resistance in what feels to be spring compression. Could the free play be a bad adjustment? Could this be the culprit to my problems? Can it be adjusted without dropping the pan again?

TV cable adjustment procedure is in the Service Manual. (don't have one, get one here.) TV cable is more about shift points, and how firm they are though. Now, with it being that far out of adjustment, *maybe* could be the issue. Worth a shot at least.

Thinking about the issue of no codes showing up regarding the transmission, I'm wondering if the slipping could be caused by electrical or electronics issues. If I have a bad connection or computer problems, could it be the root of my problems? Maybe disconnecting the 8 pin connecter eliminates that question?
