You need the one-wire sensor for the gauge in the dash.

The two wire sensor is for the PCM. (it needs a return signal.) One wire sensor is for the gauge, and grounds to the intake. You can try it, but, I suspect it ain't gonna work.

ok I'll have to return it then. So I cant use that 2 prong female connector then for it that I showed in the picture ? I cant find a loose connector anywhere else around that location besides that one. Hmmm

Two wire sensor is usually right next to thermostat housing, and can be fun to find. Is that one plugged in??

Also, does the connector you showed have two wires to it? Or only one?

so there is a two wire connector installed on the sending unit sensor left of thermostat housing right now. The connector I showed you is a 2 wire. I actually did find the one connector wire! But its attached to wiring harness to the left side of the Intake. I dont know if it will reach to right side of thermostat housing where the sensor is supposed to be installed. Hmmm seems short

On the older trucks, the one wire sensor was over by the heater outlet fitting, two-wire sensor was next to the thermostat housing. May just be a matter of moving sensors around, once you have the right holes.

Alright! So tapped new hole and swapped sensors and boom! I have my gauge back! Its only been 5 years without! I changed out both rad hoses and thermostat while I was in there. BUT I have a leak in that area now. What do you recommend to seal the thread on sensors ? I Hope's that's where it's coming from
