What's that noise ? - 240k rear end....
Thought you guys might get a kick out of the following pic. This is the outer bearing race and a selection of rollers from the driver side carrier bearing. Note how deep the race is worn away. Dana 60 with 240k miles on it.
In another thread somebody complained about working on the rear end laying on the back. Here's a solution to it:
Well actually I had the bed off for other work but it came in handy. And having a rear anti-roll bar helps getting the diff in and out of the housing. Who knew.
