Talking Wild Vents

Ok guys,
I have the "wild vent" syndrome going on. I read the thread were that fella placed a vacuum res on his truck. Don't really want a chevy part in my dodge. So what is the real fix for this issue?
Thanks,
Matt G.

There is a thread for this in the FAQ section, about where to put the check valves to take care of it. Or, at least, reduce the frequency of it.....

Also, remove the battery and the battery tray and see if that vacuum hose to the cruise control servo is all intact. I had wild vents on my truck last week and it was battery corrosion that had seeped down and ate thru a vacuum hose directly below the battery tray.

Removing the battery tray is such an ordeal though.... I replaced mine, and it was a major pain.

atc250r,
I looked this past couple days and I found that one of those vac lines looked like it was sliced. Once my son-in-law brings it back tomorrow I will do what you suggested.

Fix is in place. located broken vacuum Lin directly under battery holder. It goes to the speedo device...you can see the broken line between the bracket and the speedo cable. attached a small piece of black tubing to each side and DONE. No more wild vents.....
