Default 1998 2500 v10 4x4 random total loss of oil pressure

Had this truck for a couple years now. Rebuilt the bottom end and entire timing cover including a new oil pump. Messed up the cam position sensor on first start and the thing broke into pieces into the pan. Eventually got all the pieces out. Then after driving it for over a year it randomly dropped to zero oil pressure. Shut it off immediately and waited a few seconds to start it back up and then right back to normal pressure. Tore the pan and pickup tube off 4 different times to keep finding little pieces of the broken cam sensor. After I made sure I had them all out it still continued to happen. I then changed my oil filter because after some thinking I realized that I never had this problem until the last time I changed my oil. So I put a new filter on and didn’t have the problem for a couple months or so until yesterday when I happened twice. I’m at my wits end with this. I’m pretty sure the screws aren’t backing out of the oil pump cover because I put loctite on them when I put it in. There’s no bits of the cam sensor left. Changed oil and filter. Wasn’t thinking and put in 5w-30 instead of 10w-30 so I don’t know if maybe this is the reason why. The connector from the sensor to the wire is on securely. And the relief valve seems to be in good shape. Do I just need to replace the pressure sensor? Don’t know what else it could be because the truck does not leak oil, only leaks some coolant that comes out of the bell housing where that plate by the fly wheel is so I don’t think that would have anything to do with it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Get a mechanical gauge and verify if you are actually losing pressure

I have one but I can’t recreate it to tell if I am or not. It just happens randomly

Then just replace the sensor. Get one from the dealer. Yeah, they are more expensive, but, they are more reliable too.....
