Will the long box fuel tank fit in my short box truck?

Best to read up on laws if trying to use anything other then a factory installed tank, most gravity feeds tanks I don't believe are rated for gasoline due to EPA/Venting ect ect. Titan and S&B both make aftermarket tanks to fit stock location, though for 2nd gens I think selection is limited.

Any auxiliary tank for gas cannot be gravity fed. It must have a separate sending unit and pump and must only be used as a transfer tank. Gravity fed is only allowed for diesel fuel because it is less volatile. A company called Transfer Flow makes a gas approved setup to be mounted in the bed but is nearly 2k for the cheapest and smallest option. Ouch, and I don't want to give up bed space if I don't have to.

The only tanks that titan makes that I could find were for newer diesels. Limited option just like you said. I would like a custom made tank to fill more of the void under the bed but that's expensive and the only place I've found is Boyd custom tanks in Florida. They are taking custom orders right now and haven't since around March 2020. I'm still looking for options though.

It sucks to leave my house and burn 1/4 of a tank to go to work and back just to have to fill up to make it to work on the fifth day.

I have a 98 2500 quad cab, short bed, and I have a 34 gallon tank from the factory.

What is the measured distance from the front of the front tank strap to the front of the tank?

I went out to measure it, only to see an empty parking spot.... Then I remembered, my truck is in the shop.... I'll measure when I get it back.
