I used and elbow something like this (don’t know if this is the actual correct size... check before ordering)

Installed the rubber elbow from AutoZone and waiting for the carpet to dry before I run the air and test it out. Thanks to everyone for the help.

Tuck your finger in behind the carpet (and then behind the insulation) right below where the drain goes through the firewall to feel if it’s wet.
With gravity helping it will dry higher up first, even if the floor is still damp... this should tell you that you’ve fixed that issue/source.

I pulled the strip off at the door and kick panel, then folded the carpet back as far as I could... left it in the sun with the windows cracked a little to accelerate the drying process.
