Fuel Pump purchased was a Delphi...When I pulled it out the float was completely filled with fuel. When I squeezed the float you could see fuel squirting out along the edges of the seam of the float. Unable to find just the float, I am forced to purchase a new fuel level sending unit with new float attached. I also connected the pump up outside and moved the leveling arm up and down and the gauge worked as expected. Ok, Dumb question, is the float suppose to be able to hold fuel and still work appropriately, I would think not.

Nope. When it fills with fuel, it stops being a 'float' and becomes a 'sink'..... That should be a warranty issue, if you have any warranty left on it.
