Default Front drive shaft

I've been having a squeaking/raddling coming from the front end and i believe I've narrowed it down to the front drive shaft near the transfer case. I was wondering if it would harm any thing to disconnect the drive shaft and drive the truck. I know the the front shaft spins even when in 2WD, its a 2000 1500 4X4

Nope. No problems. You wont have 4x4, obviously, but, that's it.
