Default Neutral safety switch

Parts house give a much smaller thread switch on the tranny. Mines a 1500, even the larger switch for the 2500 is too small. Original tranny.

it's a 98 ram 1500 v8magnum 4×4. I mistakenly took out a look alike (to me) switch from transfer case. I have got the proper neutral sw in the proper hole. But, while messing with the wrong sw, I broke an orange 1/8" plastic line that I have no idea what it is. It's on the transfer case.

It should be red and that's the 4wd drive vacuum line. Just get a rubber hose that the line fits in tightly and slide it over both halves line

I was hoping that was the case. Thank you so much. I just got this truck, so expect to see some questions that may seem obvious to you all. Thanks again.

Best thing you can do to the truck is eliminate the cad and permanently lock the front axle.

I would disagree, Only problem i had with the cad was the lac of vacuum due to a clogged (metal) vac line. Cad is central axle disconnect, It's on the front axle and disengages it when it's not in 4WD.

CAD is in the front axle and gives you 4wd. Mine never worked right and even when they do is a delay in 4wd and sometimes you have to move the truck (which isn't possible if you are stuck in snow)

The exploder I had wouldn't go into 4 unless I crawled under and tapped the transfer case, in the mud. So I just need to cap that red tube?
