Default V10 Cam swap help

Hello everyone. Its been a while since I posted but I am looking for help. I am looking for a used v10 camshaft for my project. If anyone has a line on one please PM me. I am going to have a regrind done on it. It has been impossible to get a new core, I have been trying since February and now after several ETA's I am being told January next year. I am taking that as indefinite at this point. I can't wait that long due to medical/personal reasons. Any help is greatly appreciated. I will be doing a write up on the build (head, cam, and intake work) and what the final dyno numbers are once I get it completed, hopefully by December.

I called every junkyard in the state. Not a single v10. Tried a few other places in neighboring states as well as a few specialty shops. So far only located one running motor in a truck 5hrs away on a farm. I just tried car-part.com and there was one in a core motor. Waiting for them to contact me back. Thank you so much, if this pans out I will be eternally grateful.

1999 Shelby Durango #192, signed by Carrol Shelby.
This caught my eye! I believe there are a few aftermarket cams made for the V10. Try looking on craigs list, You may consider posting an ad in the automotive section"looking for V10(dodge) cam". Look on ebay also for people selling V10 related parts. Just because they don't have one listed doesn't mean they don't have one.

I have a whole thread in the 1st gen Durango section with that Shelby project. I got it with a blown motor due to "tuner" having messed it up. Got a crash course in aftermarket supercharging. Right now only Crower is grinding v10 cams and they have been trying to get a new v10 cam core since February. Every supplier keeps blowing them off. I didn't want to do a regrind but I think that's my only option. I found one on car-part. Its in a core motor so they had to remove it for inspection. Fingers crossed it's a good one.

A bit of a left field question, does anyone know if a cam from a Viper V-10 fit the iron block V-10 in the trucks? I've wondered my self as my engine is pushing 300,000 miles and thoughts of a rebuild come and go, looking down range.

Two different engines. Much as that would be fun, I don't think it'll work.

The viper has a totally different design. The truck motor uses a non-split pin crank and odd firing intervals to balance (unlike most v10 that are an even 72 degrees and split pin crank with balance shaft) where as the viper fires evenly but 2 pistons at the same time. Although viper head can be forced to work a custom intake must be made with thermostat housing. Even viper exhaust manifolds bolt up differently.

Big thank you HeyYou. Through that website I found a cam in a core motor in Florida. Had it sent directly to crower cams and luckily it was in good shape and can be reground. They were able to get my desired LSA and duration but a little lackluster in the lift. The 2.02" valves and 108x56mm mono-blade prototype throttle body with cnc match intake opening, polish/mild porting should help offset that. However that is for a different thread. Stay tuned............................
