Default Dodge v10 engine both cylinders the same?

Hey so I bought a 1997 dodge v10 block for $20 and I am pricing out the parts for it. I'm looking into the heads and when I see them on websites they only show one side. So I was wondering if both sides are identical. I've been trying to find out on google for an hour now, can't find an answer. Thanks, Liam

Yep, both heads are exactly the same, and are interchangeable side to side.

If you end up needing to replace valves and you are having a hard time finding them, viper valves will work if you have the intake valves cut in by a machine shop (1.92" vs 2.02") the exhaust valve will work as is. The valve stems are really long, even big block valves are way to short. However magnum v8 springs, retainers, keepers, and lifters will work. These are things I discovered while working on my heads for my truck project.

For any one else looking. I used some really pretty Manley Performance Stainless valves for a Viper. . The machinist cut the valve guides down a bit to accommodate the cam, backcut the intakes, pressed and machined new valve seats. When I mocked them, the only other difference I found was the installed spring height was higher by about .12. Ended up using dual springs for a Chevy Vortec. Smith Brothers custom length pushrods, Crower Dodge Magnum rocker studs.

Out of curiosity what cam specs are you using? Did you have to do a regrind or did crower finally get some cores in?

My machinist sent Herbert Cams in SoCal one of my cores. They reground it, plenty of meat on the base circle, but forgot that the Magnum uses a 1.6 ratio rather than the 1.5 of the B/RBs. I wound up with something like .52 of lift, bound the springs pretty well, besides being a bit much for a work truck. They recut the cam for me, no charge. Currently right at .498, haven't been home enough to fully sort it out, but seems to be living all right with a '95 MoparPerformance computer. Nobody I have found reprograms the OBDI Magnum computer. I also had the block squared and the heads cut about .030.

Also the v10's share rockers with the viper, which are 1.7s. Magnum v8 springs work, I went with mopar performance springs. Crower only could do .478 lift, but I wanted a 110 lsa which hindered it.
