Default TCC lock up?

Hey guys, got a question. I have a 94 ram 4x4 with the 360 that I just got back on the road after 3 years, well the only issue I'm having now is the transmission will shift into all gears like it's supposed to, 1st all the way into overdrive, but after overdrive the converter wont lock up... could the solenoid be my issue? Or is it the transmission? Torque converter? I drove it last weekend and it would lock up every now and then but when you would push the brake and it would unlock it wouldnt want to lock back unless it downshifted and even then it was iffy sometimes, but last night I drove it an hour and a half home and it wouldnt lock up at all... any suggestions?

Shift pattern should be 1-2-3-TCC-O/D..... When TC locks, RPM will only drop a little bit, 100-200 RPM, O/D is a more significant drop. So, which one is really missing?

Well if I push the overdrive button on the dash it turns off, push it again it turns back on, and when I drove it before when it would lock if I tapped the brake it the convertor would unlock, and seeing as tho if I turn the od off I still dont feel lock up, so I'm assuming it's the actual lock up not working...

Getting any codes? May not necessarily turn on the CEL..... Have it scanned, see if there are any pending codes. If TCC isn't working, the PCM should be whining about it.

Yeah it used to have a code for the tcc circuit open or shorted. But I haven't checked it since I drove it home last night.

Well, that would certainly cause some issues. Check the 8 pin connector at the trans, the wires tend to pull out of the connector a bit, and can lead to shorts there.

Yeah I'm gonna check them when I get home. Does the 94 have the 8 pin connector?

94? I need to pay more attention to what I am reading.....

Nope, yours will have a three pin connector. Plugs straight down into the top of the valve body area, drivers side of the trans, about halfway back.

Okay I'll check it out when I get home. Thank yo .
if the wires check out is it possible that side of the solenoid could be bad?

It's possible, could also be the internal harness in the trans
