Default KYB torque

I just replaced the front shocks on my 01 Sport. Can’t seem to torque down the front shocks on my KYB’s. I’ve used an impact and also tried holding the nut on the top of the shaft with no luck. Anyone else running KYB’s?

You need to keep the shock from turning when installing the nut. Another option is to use standard nuts and use them to lock it into place. The nut that came with the shock is a lock nut and can be difficult to get on.

Yea that’s the problem. I tried securing the top of the shaft with an adjustable wrench. The problem is I can’t hold it enough to turn it without stripping it.

Yeah, I think just using regular nuts, to tighten to spec, then put a jam nut on top of it to keep it from coming loose.
