Strut/shock/damper - some people use them interchangeably. On to topic:
I installed Maxx Links about four years ago and they seem to hold up pretty well. But they rusted almost immediately so be sure to paint them. I used these for up to 3" lifts:

The newer trucks actually use struts though..... and we have zero information on what he is driving..... So, maybe he has them, maybe he doesn't.

The big spring. I put a spacer on top of it. Ordered extended shocks. Wandering about the sway links 👍

Tires are leaning top out a bit. Hope the shocks help with that. Or maybe didn't seat the strut all the way? Needs shocks anyway, the others are stretched 100%

If the tires are leaning out at the top then the ball joints are the cause, not the shocks.

Find out how much you need for the sway bar to be parallel to the ground and just search "x" sway bar links for 2001 Ram" "x" is the size you need.
