I do believe they are 'on demand' type alternators. I.E. If it doesn't need to, it doesn't put it out. Of course, I have been wrong before....... They have a variety of different outputs available. Get one that will meet your needs, and not empty your pockets. Be sure to upgrade the feed wire from the alternator, to the battery, and also the fuse in the power distribution center.

There is a limit that you can go to (i believe 150) Anything over that you need to use a different fuse holder. The stock type fuse only will go up to that amount.

I forget what amp fuse it was but it tops out at certain amperage and you need to get a different fuse holder/fuse and probably cable also if you plan on going more than that.
