Given how much fun those bottom two bolts were to get out, I suspect it is something that was not installed on every truck. (and I have never seen one either....) Probably part of some package or other, that not a lot of folks chose.....

All my second gens had them ranging from 96-02 1500/2500/3500s

Having them on the off-road package makes a twisted sort of sense..... Wonder if it was a regional thing?

They did all have the tranny skid plate, so maybe that was the package?

That sounds likely, as none of mine had the trans skid plate.

I always thought the tranny skid was standard always learning. You though my sir need to write a book on tips and tricks
