95 ram overdrive button not working
Hoping you guy can help me. I searched and have not found anything yet. My 95 1500 has been parked with that battery disconnected for about 2 years. I got it out and loaded it on a trailer to get some exhaust work done and the over drive button is not working. When I push it nothing happens no light or anything. I haven’t drove it because it is running off the long tube headers right now. Would the battery being off cause the computer to need to relearn before it will let me turn off the o/d? It was working fine when I parked it.
The O/D off button just suggests to the computer that you don't want it to shift into O/D. There is a signal from the computer, to the switch, when you push the button, it completes the circuit, and the computer *should* turn on the light..... If it isn't, need to verify that the signal voltage is getting TO the switch, and that the switch actually completes the circuit when you press it. You can find the wiring diagrams for the switch in the Factory Service manual, which you can download from here. It wouldn't surprise at all if the switch just didn't have poor contact from corrosion after sitting there for two years.

Should be able to as I believe there is a bulb in there you can change but I'm unsure.
