Are you low on coolant? Check it and write back

Default Have no idea how to post a new question on this site. So Will try here

97 dodge 5.9L
Engine loses power and sputters after driving for a while. Runs great until this happens. Will do it for a mile or two then be better. Every time this happens, The radio audio cuts out just before. Every time. When the engine stops sputtering the radio audio returns. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Tom

Temperature seems fine... low coolant would potentially give a higher temp.

How long ago since you last used the heat?
The seal on the blend door could have deteriorated and caused it to stick shut.

This was the case for me... it took lots for cycling the vent control back and forth to eventually get it to break free.

Either coolant isn’t circulating, or your heater core is clogged. Mine was clogged, and I unclogged it by using a compressor, and blowing the crap out of it. Needless to say, I have heat now!

With a 195 i would think the gauge would read higher unless the sender is bad. You might want to look at the temp motor shaft in hvac unit, Could be a blend door problem.
