Default Is it time to change my spark plugs?

I am a “diy’er” and by no means a mechanic. I researched spark plug replacement examples, and they all look terrible! Mine look nothing like them. The truck starts, and runs fine; no symptoms, what do you guys think? Thank you!

What's the mileage and what does the manual recommend as far as a change interval?

She’s currently at 187,140 miles. According to my mom, she was given a tune up not long before she was retired in 2010.

You're definitely running rich. Hotter spark may mean a cleaner engine and better fuel economy. Swap them out, properly gapped, and see how your fuel consumption and power does. I'll bet they both improve. I still like to change mine every 30,000 miles just so they don't seize in the heads and it keeps the engine happy.

They're due for a change but not horrible. Don't worry about something if it's not broken.

They look like they could use a change after an 11 year run. Change them and let us know how the truck reacts to it.

Yes, they are carbon fouled. Get copper spark plugs, not platinum or iridium. I like NGK. NGK #4291 or Autolite #5224
