I have this pan but mine is older and doesn’t have the temp sensor bung and it’s silver not black.

Ahh I see the filter extension on the "commonly bought together" they should keep it cool!

Finally got around to putting the fluid in my transmission. I put in 8qts and checked it was overfill on the dipstick. Put in neutral and started the truck and checked not it’s not even on the dip stick. I sure didn’t think the new pan was that much deeper.

Typical fill with just a fluid/filter change is 4 to six quarts. A lot depends on how long it sits and drains......

it was almost 4 days before I put the new filter and pan on. Plus I did the check valve delete so that might have let a little bit more out. I’m going to go get 4 more qts tonight and see how much more it takes to get it full.

Be sure and check fluid with engine running, and trans in neutral. (shift thru the gears once as well. Don't have to move the truck.)

It took another 3 quarts and it’s still shows a little low but in the safe while running in Neutral after shifting through the gears. My driveway is a little sloped to the road so I’m going to back it out on the level tomorrow and recheck and finish topping it off. I sure didn’t think it would take 11 quarts to fill it.

Unless it was rather low before you even dropped the pan??

That does seem a bit excessive.
