Default Flakes in transmission pan

Wondering what you guys think about this. I changed the fluid when I first got the truck at 67000 miles it not had 101000 and dropped the pan a few min ago and found this. What do you think? The trans shifts fine and od works. All the flakes were stuck the the bottom of the pan in the middle. Fluid is red and does not smell burnt. Also I does not stick to a magnet.

Doesn't look too terribly concerning. Clean it out good, and see what it looks like next time you drop the pan.

what is in the transmission that doesn’t stick to a magnet? It is sliver and looks like aluminum. Maybe from the trans cooler?

im letting it drain over night and installing the new pan tomorrow.

you think just left over from casting or? How would it get shaved off the case?
Also have a code 37 when checking codes but the cel is not on when driving the truck.

There is always some casting flash that breaks off and winds up in the pan. Likely that's what it is.

Mine had the same thing around that mileage. Also had what looked like a dead mouse in there. Turned out to be the magnet. Yeah ended up rebuilding it not long after.

I hope not but it is what it is. What is strange is it’s alu no wear items inside the trans would be aluminum so I’m like hay you thinking it would have to be from the case. I’m sure this is only the 2nd service in its life.

I'll be honest with you NEVER had transmission problems in a second gen except when I nicked the wires changing the distributor cap. I run 40s on 3.55s and power braked the crap out of mine and it's still going strong at almost 200,000 miles. Mine looked like that last fluid change I did. Oh and the bands were never adjusted because I couldn't get a socket to fit.
