No limited slip blues

Went to the build sheet and it says 3.55. ratio.
Was that ratio commonly used on 4x4 trucks?
What would the spline count be? The truck was lightly used, has 75 k miles on it and just might be worth a new lsd.
The used units I have looked at all are on 200K+ trucks run hard.
The later model all disc brake axles would need at the least different master cylinder, proportioning valves, and to have the computer reflashed. Possibly lines as well.

Does the 9.25 get a clutch based limited grip? 'Cause if so anything you find used will be as good as an open diff.
Honestly your best option is to pay a qualified shop to install a quality LSD or TAD of your choice. Or if there's a lunchbox locker like the Spartan available for the 9.25, that's another option and you can DIY
Beyond that, studded tires and weight in the bed....
edit: you're 2500 so D70 or D80 pig with 70 outers. But same answer applies

The factory limited slips are garbage, I wouldn't go through the trouble of finding an axle with one in it becuse it will likely need to be rebuilt anyway, also the clips that hold the clutches in like to break of and it can grenade the axle if it gets caught in the gears. Putting a lunchbox locker in your existing axle like mentioned above would be a far better idea.

Scraping and scrounging to get a factory limited grip just ain't worth the effort. NOW, swapping to get a deeper gearset, that's a different matter....

Well they are not as good as what's available in the aftermarket. Back in the late 60's/early 70's you could get both a clutch design or cone design lsd for the 8 3/4. Auburn still makes the cone design for different rears. Here it is for the 9 1/4. I still would opt for the Detroit truetrac.
