Did the check engine lamp come on at anytime? Because you could get engine stay too long code. And how does the heater work inside the truck?

 

A basic tune up is what fixed mine....... Plugs wires distributor cap rotor button and coil.....turns out that stuff was so worn during the right conditions it just couldn't produce enough spark..... It would smell like gas horribly because it wasn't being burned....... My last straw was when during cranking one of the times it wouldn't start my muffler filled up with gas fumes and when it finally did get some fire the muffler exploded like a damn bomb scared the crap out of me and thought I ruined my truck......... And when mine was doing this it had no codes or engine light
