Default Ignition cylinder replacement no key.

I lost my keys and im wondering if I can replace mine with a new one with keys without having to have my key to remove the original? If so how do I go about it?

You have three options one is pound a flat head screwdriver in, two is get a while new switch with cylinder or three you can pay a locksmith to make a key which around me in the cheapest option ($30). They come out and pick the lock them make a key

Depending on what year your truck is, you should be able to visit the dealer, show then your vin, and proof of ownership, they should be able to cut you a new key.

An auto locksmith can do ignition replacement easily and their charges are far less than dealership.

Before 98 i believe they had used a cylinder you can't take apart(you can but won't be able to use it again). It is swedged together as you can see in the pic(center of the ring piece that broke off. This is exactly what happen to my 96.) The locksmith may be able to use the door lock.

The door cylinder should be the same. Take the lock cylinder to a lock smith and have a new key made. Then make TWO copies so you always have a spare.

It's not that easy to engage starter with the lock that's why locksmith's help is essential. I also have contacted locksmith san diego near me for that issue.
