2nd gen vibration
I’m having a vibration right when i hit 65 mph and it doesn’t seem to get better with higher speeds. feels like it’s coming from back to mid of truck. just got tires rotated and balanced and it didn’t stop. new clutch kit and new universals. deferential also has kinda new fluid. i have no idea what it could be.
Oh, man, you just replaced/removed/changed a bunch of parts that can cause vibes. I've had tires and u-joints cause vibes but not clutch yet and I'm on my third. But maybe it wasn't aligned just right or the flywheel wasn't replaced or re-surfaced. Start with the easiest and cheapest thing: rotate tires and check the balance. Then u-joints, then clutch.
2WD? Block the front wheels, raise BOTH back wheels, set them on solid jack stands. Start the truck, put in gear slowly accelerate. Look for bent rims/axles, out of round tires, drive shaft yokes and joints that allow the shaft to wander out of orbit. Listen for anything unusual.
Drove 150 miles on it today didn’t have a choice. Starting to feel like it vibrates everywhere and the steering wheel pulls right. i already know i have bad ball joints but could that be the cause of the vibration at high speed?
yeah i got stock wheels. yesterday i had them rotated and balanced buy a shop i have trusted for years and years.
