1994 2500 4x4 V10 automatic... runs rough at times !
Hello i purchased this 1994 2500 4x4 automatic with the V10 engine about a year ago and knew i had plenty of work to do to it ... i knew it had a intermittent rough running / low power issue but decided to fix everything else first and am now lookng into this issue ... it has true dual exhaust on it and the left bank pops at times and the temperature is way cooler coming out ... sometimes the truck runs good other times it dont like pulling a small hill then pull good again ...i pulled plugs and at least two was very lean looking ...can anyone help me try to figure out my running problem , i really like this truck and will have a camo paint job using duck boat paint ! Thanks
Standard autolite coppers? Good Choice. These trucks really don't like the rare-earth fellers.
Check connections at your coil packs. One of 'em does four cylinders, the other does six, either one of those dropping out, and the truck wouldn't have the power to get out of its own way. I don't think the individual coils are replaceable though.... and the modules themselves are NLA, so far as I know. And from everything I have learned, the 8.0 simply doesn't care about misfires. You can have a dead cylinder, and the PCM will never figure it out....
That said, might try driving it with the O2 sensors unplugged, see if it runs any better. (but, you thought it sucked gas before??? Holy smokes...... )

Thanks for input , i have cked connections on coil packs and connection plug at ecu for corrosion ... i will try unplugging the O2 sensors and ck it out ....i have not drove truck a whole lot , a couple of tank fulls but yes gas milage is terrible! ..have a good day
Even when it's doing "good", gas mileage is terrible. 488 cubic inches want a LOT of gasoline. Even just sitting there idling.
lol...i know your right ! ...i would put me a straight 6 in its place one day if i could find an adapter ! ... i removed the engine ecu fuse and battery cable yesterday and it ran fine but i am sure it will come back ... going to un plug thise o2 sensor wires tomorrow and see what it does.... after that will look unto cam position sensor ect. ...thanks again
