Default IOD Fuse Blows

So it just happened today they the IOD fuse blows as soon as you put it in. According to my meter it has 12.5 amps across it. Nothing changed, nothing was added. The ohm read good so I have no idea why it's blowing.

Which fuse are you referring to ? The FSM doesn't have anything labeled "IOD".

Fuse 12 in the interior fuse box. It's the IOD fuse and controls the dome lights, overhead console, vanity mirrors, cargo lights, and radio. It actually melts the fuse so I'm thinking shorted to ground

Your first post said 12.5 A, if it was a dead short it would blow the fuse in the meter. Do you have power mirrors ? The switch would be my first suspect, followed by an aftermarket radio if you have that.

Yes it has power everything Yes when I put my multimeter on 20VDC it comes up at about 12.6. I wanted to eliminate things so I have the radio unplugged, overhead console, under hood light, glove box light, and dome light. I have to figure out where the door harness plugs in at

Ok that's different. If you are measuring DC voltage and not current (amps) then you have a connection to ground somewhere. Keep disconnecting stuff but I once had an issue in a Jeep that I could only find after cutting a wire to eliminate part of the harness.

I just disconnected everything and it's still doing it. Looks like I'll be pulling the dash to check the wires behind it.

I'm going to pull C2, C3, & C7 on the back of the fuse box to see if that does anything. I'm thinking it's shorted intensely

I believe somehow the junction block has an internal sorry to ground.

That seems very unlikely. The combination flasher has a ground connection but from what I can tell the grounds run through C7 and C3. If you disconnected all three connectors I have no idea where the ground would be coming from.
