Did you turn the rheostat and see if the lights come on? Stereo has 3 power feeds, One is the light feed(only powers the lights) two is the key on feed and three is constant power(maintains memory). Sounds like you are not hooking this one up. Oh, And the second gens are not "ugly" by no means. If you want ugly buy a new "Ram".

I'm not a fan of the styling of most new trucks. All brands. They've gotten too large to be able to do what I use my trucks for. Then again, if you want UGLY, look at the GM offerings from just after the turn of the Century. I worked with a gal who had an Aztec. I mentioned they weren't the best looking cars. She replied, she liked the inside and that's what she saw when driving. More power to her. I just feel the Aztec wasn't ugly. It was OOHGLY, As is "Ooh, that is hard to look at."

yep, just went out and tried to turn it and nothing, even the **** on the side doesnt work for it. I am wondering since the p.o wired a led light for front cab light, if by tapping into that caused the issue? As for stereos, usually red, yellow, and black with sometimes the thinner blue wire for subs and stuff. The og stereo wire harness appears chopped and rewired it few days back and finished stuffing 10" powered sub under driver seat an hour ago. Not saying the goose is ugly by all means, her dents and spots are what make her pertyful, lol. Do plan on figuring out the honeycomb grill comes out to repaint. I've followed threads and such but seems the entire frame and stuff wants to come off so the hard way it seems. Gotta figure out the gas gauge issue cause guessing gets expensive and find a breather setup. She's done survived few outings with the wife and kids and my youngest discovered the middle armrest is a perfect footrest from the backseat, lol

On the fuel gauge, I don't remember if it has a new fuel pump. As a general rule of thumb, if the gauge reads zero, you have a bad ground on the sending unit. If it reads full all the time, you have a dead short on the power line to the sending unit. If it's off, and the pump has been in there for a while, it's probably time for a new pump.

I will say on my 96 with a new pump could never get it to read right. Never chased the problem (original pump would go to E when you hit the gas, faster you push the gas the quicker it went to E) as a kid offered me $8200 for it.

I've had a couple of cars and trucks over the years that would do that. The gauge wouldn't come back up though as they were draining the tank.

I agree, a lot of the GM vehicles are ugly, especially the trucks. Before I met my wife she wanted an Aztec, but got an Equinox instead as the dealership didn't have an Aztec on hand. I've given her grief a few times for liking Aztecs.
