Default Transmission differences between 5.2 and 5.9?

Basically the 46RE in my 98 Ram behind a 360 is on its last leg and I was looking to get it rebuilt but today someone is selling a 99 Ram with a 318 in it with a "good" transmission. Wondering if they are swappable or if I end up chasing my tail needing computers reprogrammed and whatnot. The PCM might have to be swapped from one truck to the other?

In my recent tranny endeavors they are the same tranny both 5.2. And 5.9 come with 46re. I could be wrong.... I actually just finished rebuilding my 46re. Only thing left us to run my new tranny lines n fill er up n see id it was a success

Yep, same trans. Might be some minor differences in the torque converter, but, can't swear to that.
