Are snap ring pliers vice grips that end in a loop? Having trouble finding something like that, sounds useful as hell

on the parking prawl.. Thats right there at the end of the transmission, I cannot really see it. I just spin it to engage it?

Also, when the break happened and when I had to move it, it was difficult to get it back into park. Felt like I had to force it into park, had to turn off the engine and wait for it to stop spinning at the end of the transmission to get it into park. Probably messed it up..

Trying to get my hands on a broken transmission. Maybe I can replace that part as well as the o/d housing..

Rain is really slowing me down right now

https://www.ebay.com/itm/46RE-Dodge-....m46890.l49286

Thinking about getting this one. I know we discussed the differences- this guy specifically says

> 46RE Dodge refurbished overdrive shell, thoroughly cleaned, finished with an anti-corrosion coating, new rear seal installed, and gasket provided. (Seal is shown separate in photo but installed before shipped). Applies 96-up / or all overdrives approximately 11" long. (Will not work for 15" long overdrives or 48RE)

Do we know if my single cab 5.9 is the 11" long O/ D housing vs the 15"? I'm pretty positive it is after measuring what's left of my old housing. The way it broke/ I have everything disconnected I can't really tell if I'm missing 4 inches or not

15 inch was only on the 48RE trans. So, your should be the 11 inch.

Awesome. Got it ordered, hopefully it is as described. Only $150 so willing to take the gamble that the rest of the transmission is okay.

Now to get those u joints ordered. Its been a slow process.. When the hornets start making nests on the block you know you're taking too long lol.

Any recommendations on u joint replacements?

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...sal+joint,2392

It's all pretty cheap so trying to get a greasable heavy duty set. One for up front and in back. They all seem to have different barring sizes/ set up for 2 joint or 3 joint. Little lost. Would they all fit or do I need to measure my old ujoint and get that size.

Tried this link but just got confused further https://www.currieenterprises.com/un...nding-u-joints

Talk to your local parts store, get part numbers for the correct u-joints, or maybe find 'em on rock auto. Getting good ones, not necessarily greaseable ones, is the hot ticket.
