Default Transmission slip

Hello. I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.9L. Seems when I go up hills or grades it acts like it doesn’t want to shift. Rpms go high. When I take the overdrive off it seems to shift and do fine. Been doing that for a bit (taking overdrive off) when I come to to a hill just to make it up. I have a lot of hills where I live and around. Is this the transmission going or maybe something electrical or other issues.

also what could be causing he seatbelts to lock while we are driving. They would be fine for a bit then seem both seats lock and we have to take them off before they get to tight. Turn the engine off for a bit and I guess it resets itself and they are fine for the next ride. Thanks

no engine codes. Roughly 125,000 miles. Give it take a few. Can’t remember off the top of my head. I can look when I get home. I replaced the plenum gasket about 7 years ago

Last time fluid/filter were changed? I might be tempted to do the governor pressure stuff as well as the output speed sensor...... (not to mention the band adjustment..... )

filter/fluid was changed about 11 years ago. Couldn’t tell you how many miles were out on it since then. The last 3-4 years had only been used as needed to haul or pull something as it is not my daily driver.

Yeah, do the fluid/filter/governor stuff. I am reasonably sure that should deal with it. Adjust the bands while you are in there.

The seat belt issue is probably the seat belt module. It's under the center seat in the front, they are known to go bad.
