Default Code 37

I have a 1994 ram 1500 4x4 5.2l. The truck fires, but immediately dies. My only codes are 14 and 37. I'm sure that getting a new mass air flow sensor would eliminate the code and help the stalling issue, but my concern at the moment is code 37. I have already dropped the tranny pan and got the tcc solenoid out. As money is an issue and quite frankly this truck is in its last life, by pulling the solenoid out to bypass it, do I still put actuator back in or leave it out as well? Yes I'm aware that overheating is possible, but as I said, this truck wont make it much longer, I just need it to move right now.

Eliminating the TCC solenoid will only shorten its life. And it may not even be the solenoid. If it doesn't work, just leave it in there, as opposed to taking it apart, and doing something else with it. You will still have the code, but, less likely to have to go back in there when the trans doesn't work at all....

You don't have a MAF (mass air flow) sensor, you have a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor. Quite honestly, either one of those could be your problem.... Does it feel like someone trying to stop without pushing in the clutch when it dies? Or does it simply idle down real low, and then stall?

It wont idle at all. It starts, then immediately dies. Wont stay running any longer than maybe a second. I can push the gas to keep it running, but then the check engine light starts flashing. Checked the codes and 14 and 37 are the only ones. Now, with the code 37, this one came about initially, only stalling when put into reverse. Then it seemed to progressively get worse and stall whenever it was taken out of park. Now like I said previously, it stalls immediately after firing. Does produce a strong gasoline smell too, as I'm sure that would also be because of code 14.

Change the MAP sensor, see what happens. Sure sounds like yours is bad.

A 37 code is for the trans temp sensor(as per the factory service manual) not the tcc solenoid. It can mean different things depending where you look it up at.
