I have a 1999 ram 1500. 5.2 liter. Truck had been running great but over the past two weeks I have had to replace the ignition coil 4 times. Keeps burning them up. Have tried 4 different brands coils. Have changed plug wires, have changed distributor cap and button, have changed coil pigtail, have changed alternator. Kinda lost at moment on what else to do. No check engine light. Any advice?
Check the connectors in the pigtail for the coil. If they get to rounded out, they don't make good contact, thus, high resistance, and it eats the coil. Might also wanna check the connection at the PCM for the coil ground. And possibly the PCM grounds as well.

Thank you for fast response. I replaced the pigtail to the coil just to be safe and cleaned all grounds along with running an extra ground from PCM to firewall, from firewall to coil, and from coil to frame. Hopefully this will resolve the issue

After cleaning all grounds and reinstalling same issues. Replaced ignition pickup and pcm same issues.
Decided to check crankshaft position sensor and sure enough wires going into sensor had rubbed together and grounding out. Replaced sensor and issues resolved.
