Default Carrier pin retainer bolt

9.25 corporate rear trac-loc axle in 01 1500 4x4. Retaining bolt came out in two pieces. I rebuilt the clutches and cant find a new bolt, or even the mention of one anywhere. All the bolts I find have a flat head surface, mine is tapered like a lug nut.

The 2001 parts catalog shows it as part# 03507724, later superseded by 68460897AA. The part has been used in oodles of vehicles all the way to the 2010s and Chrysler still lists them. Hard to tell from the online parts catalog picture if it has the tapered seat, worst case use a tapered washer.

Yeah, that's a center pin retainer, no? Has nothing to do with the pinion.

Just saying proper terminology almost always gets you further when searching for specific parts

Does CrapLok or not make a difference? I may have one from an open diff. I think the center pin is the same for either? The carriers were cast differently to allow for the clutch packs, so perhaps I'm wrong

Yes sorry I missed the -DSA note which indicates not for the limited slip option (DSA). The parts catalog only shows the complete differential, no clutches etc. That's true all the way through 2010. The unit is made by Dana Spicer (80754) but even their parts site shows only two pinion lock bolts, the one I mentioned and one smaller one. No amount of googling brings up anything else, despite the design having been used for over 40 years. Out of ideas.

Edit: Which bolt did you get that didn't fit ? There are some Dana 35/44 lock bolts that look similar, e.g. https://www.crownautomotive.net/Diff...5015223AA.html

Yes, might want to speak with Yukon to determine if either of these bolts will work for your needs - this fits a Dana 44HD Track-lok - https://www.yukongear.com/shop/yspblt-058 - This one fits a 8.25 rear - https://www.yukongear.com/shop/yspblt-048 - you might get lucky...

The Dana 44 bolt looks right but is about 10% smaller. Thanks for your effort.

I called Yukon gear, the guy that I talked with told me Spicer parts were irrelevant because my axle was a corporate unit, when I mentioned Spicer made the unit for Chrysler, he told me he wasnt going to argue semantics.

Personally, I'd call them back and see if you can get more detailed specifics on those parts (length, diameter, etc) to see if you can get one to match up to yours.
