Throttle Linkage
1995 Ram 2500 V10 - I started the truck after about 3 weeks of not using it and it started right up, but as I stepped on the gas pedal and it never came back up and stuck towards the floor. After shutting the truck off, I soaked the linkage with WD-40 and finally got things moving. The engine is probably flooded, but I'll wait until tomorrow to restart it.
This was a quick fix and I believe it will happen again and I'd like to prevent a reoccurrence, especially if it happens while I'm driving, it could cause a major accident.
Can the linkage be taken apart, cleaned and greased easily or will I run into problems with popping springs, needed adjustments, special tools, etc.?
Thanks in advance ...

WD-40 really doesn't do much for rust. PB Blaster is a better product. Drown the linkage with it, move it a LOT to get it freed up, then hit it with some variety of dry lubricant. (graphite-based) No more problems.
Sounds like a plan - In fact, I have a gallon of PB Blaster, but the WD-40 was all I had with me at the time. I'll use the PB Blaster today and redo the linkage and see how that works. I'll update as I go along for others who may have a similar problem.
