WOW! Question is what does the rest of the truck look like. Is it relay feasible to fix this if other things are so rusted (frame) and could fail in the future? Most of the front end parts you can get from Moog if the control arms arm's are shot you may be able to get them aftermarket. Brake lines both hard and hoses you can get aftermarket. Any other parts if not produced aftermarket a donor vehicle will be needed to get them off of.

Frame is fine and isn’t even rusty in all but a few spots , minor rust on the body mostly on the lh fender and the rear Rh wheelwell and the bottom of the doors rest of the sheet metal is clean.

The absolute worst spot is the front suspension and in my mind given the paint is intact on the rails but the front end is rusted out means a factory defect from Dodge, very unfortunate on an 83,000 mile truck

I could have picked up a clean southern rolling frame 1998 with full suspension for $350 but sadly it was lower Michigan mid lockdown and didn’t happen.

That likely would have been the best answer.

wonder if this would work, it’s the wrong year (2003)

Nope. Wrong length, and a host of other problems. Nothing would line up.

the guy with the 98 1/2 ton 2wd club cab said his front end wouldn’t fit either

Are these trucks as bad as an AMC where every year is a unicorn or should any 2nd Gen 2wd work?

There were likely some frame changes from 99-00, but, no idea if there actually are any. Could download both year service manuals, and look at the measurements..... See if anything changes.
