I have a 2000 dodge ram 2500 and sometimes it shifts at around 2500 rpm for no reason.I've already tried adjusting the tv cable and that helps a little but not for long. If i give it full throttle the problem becomes worse for the next few hours or until i turn the truck off and stomp the throttle a few times. Stuck valve or bad sensor?

 

I would check the cable first, see if it's binding somewhere. If that seems ok, dropping the pan is likely the next step.
