Default Front mini spool?

So I got this mini spool for cheap for my front d44 on my ram and I was wondering can I run that because of the axle disconnect or will it not work because I saw my front driveshaft spin in 2wd even though it has a disconnect.

The front driveshaft will still turn, even though it isn't powering anything, (and it isn't powered either.....) However, I would not put a spool in the front of a 4x4, unless you don't like turning corners in 4x4.

My other 4x4s got lockers that I keep engaged while turning it’s not bad cause it’s all mud where i am, but as long as I’m in 2wd it shouldn’t affect steering going down the road right?

So long as the disconnect is working properly, you likely won't even notice it is there. The front driveshaft WILL be turning though, when you are moving.... as there won't be spider gears to redirect the energy. You *might* see your gas mileage suffer a point or so. Or not.

alright well I think my disco is working right, but yeah I guess it could go from 10 mpg to 9 or something but I’m regearing so that’ll probably make up for it. I’m doing 4.88s because 37s with a 5.2l.
