Default How to replace a rotted fuel tank crossmember?

This is on a 98 2500, there's a cross member going over the fuel tank which the rear fuel tank strap hangs from. Looks like it was maybe riveted in originally?
I see plenty of aftermarket ones for chevy but can't find any for Dodge. Anyone come across this before?

Thank!

Yes, I had to change the front cross member on my '96 Ram 2500 4x4 standard cab truck/8 foot bed, which is directly under the back of the cab. That cross member is riveted in place. As an FYI, I changed the cross member while I had the bed off the truck frame, as I was replacing it with another bed due to rust. I cut the rivets out and found another cross member from a local donor truck (2000 or 2001) that was in perfect shape. I slid that new cross member in place and had a friend weld it in place. I've had no issues with that repair.

Guess I’m looking for a donor then. Was hoping for a bolt-in replacement like the Chevy guys have though.

No such thing. Dodge was never an aftermarket king. Even my 68 charger most parts are hard as hell to find

Parts aren't really that hard to find for the '68 and '69 Chargers (I have a '69 Charger R/T myself). The issue is that sellers want a fortune for each part. Unfortunately, vintage Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth stuff tends to run high price-wise.

I have a hard time finding anything other than body parts new for it. Mine has the Hemi 4spd and I am just about to paint it. Now parts for my Valiant or Polara are impossible.

What parts are you talking about? Back in the day they wanted $100 or more just for a grill. You may know how hard the aluminum trim around it was to find(in good shape). The 69's all had the center trim piece bent. Now they reproduce them. They weren't reproducing windshields back then either not to mention the sheet metal that is available today.

Yes, parts for the '68 - '70 Dodge Charger are readily available thru numerous mail order/online vendors. You can practically build the entire car with all of the parts now available. The issue these days is how deep is your wallet, as those parts don't come cheap...

I waited 2.5 years from a roof from AMD. Could not find a 68 gas cap that was year correct. Could not find agreement tail lights that fit right and I bought them for $1,000 a side. Now if you are talking about the Valiant and Polara try finding a 66 Valiant bumper

I emailed a couple junkyards on car-part.com that showed up as having frames. Hopefully I can get just the cross member.
