I used a washer and zip tie, no issues for past 6 months and I’ve gone in and out of 4x4 quite a few times

You don’t have any sloppy play because of the hole size with no bushing.

I think we have parts manuals available for download in the FAQ/DIY section, should be able to find the part number there.

I have maybe half inch of play back and forth, and the washer I used fit inside the groove and with the heavy duty zip tie it’s tight

The grommet part number used on the 241DHD transfer case shifter on my '96 Ram 2500 4x4 is 3467791. I suspect the same bushing is used on the 2001 as well. Just FYI, they are a very tight fit when putting the rod into the bushing.

That part number is discontinued. I saw the trend on how to make a new setup from parts from Lowe’s. That’s probably what I’ll do.

As of today, you can still find them by Googling the part number. There is an active eBay auction for a pair. You can also find them in Dorman assortment part number14041..

FYI Part number 3467791 is to small and I tried the assortment and only one that was hard plastic was bigger and destroyed it trying to put it in which was to big. I then call Dorman and they had no match to my vin # even the Crown Company.
Thanks everyone
