Default New guy needs help

I just came by a 1996 Ram 1500 2wd 5.2 with only 90k miles and I need to know how to remove the black plastic dash face. I am not new to wrenching but would not like to screw up a nice vintage truck. Directions would be appreciated.

Need to pull the ashtray, and it's "mount", two screws there I think. Other than that, I think it just pulls off. (clipped in place.) Gotta be gentle with it though, it gets brittle with age.

Download the factory service manual for your truck from here.

I remove the ash tray and it's mount, as well as the cup holder and it's mount. Then I put the e brake on drop the shifter into 1st and tilt the steering wheel all the way down then pry from the bottom verry nicely and work your way up and around. Don't forget to unplug cigarette lighter and power outlet once you can get your hand back there

And use the tilt on wheel to bring wheel down and bring shifter down to 1 to get clearance
